5 Steps to Getting Out of Overwhelm & Into Massive Action

Who here knows what it’s like to get stuck in a state of overwhelm? You know, the place where you have billions of ideas and thoughts running through your brain. You’re being pulled in endless directions. You don’t know where to begin or how to divide yourself and your time to get all of this done. Where you don’t even know how you’ll execute on or accomplish everything….

….and when you finally come up for air, you freak because you’ve wasted so much time and have nothing to show for it but more stress.

I’ve been there, too!

But these 5 steps are what I and each of my clients use to get out of this place of overwhelm and into a place where business is growing in a healthy and happy way.

Step 1: Brain Dump

Get out your timer for 10 or 15 minutes and get all of the crap in your head out and on to paper.

Step 2: What’s Important TO YOU

Go back to “your why” and then go 1 step further. What are the 3 most important things in your life (foundationally)? Recall them now.

Step 3: Align

Align by answering the following questions:

o   What items in your brain dump align with your why or your 3 most important things?

o   What will move you forward today?

o   What will make you money? (if it’s a business related item)

Step 4: Eliminate

Cross everything else that doesn’t fit into alignment with your priorities OFF OF YOUR LIST. Do it.

Step 5: Prioritize

Take another look at what’s left on your list. Now decide what THREE (limit to 3 or less) things you will focus on accomplishing today. Pick things that are doable.

Let me know what you decided to get accomplished today and what kinds of things you eliminated after you decluttered your brain. Congrats – you are an action taker!

5 Ways Indecision is Killing Your Business

...and is destructive to you as a parent, partner or even a person.

In this video, I explain why indecision is one of your biggest enemies.

Here's a summary of how indecision hurts you:

1.     IT SUCKS UP YOUR CAPACITY:

·      It sucks up your capacity, whether it is psychological, emotional or intellectual.

·      I use a mason jar to demonstrate this concept. You have limited energy and indecision eats away at it and robs other areas of your life from your focus.

·      It also leads to overwhelm when you are stuck in the vicious cycle of questioning whether or not you should take action, then looking for alternatives, then not knowing which to choose, etc. etc. etc. It’s not a fun place to be.

·      Just move on and let go! Stop trying to know and control everything and start releasing that burden.

2.     IT HURTS YOUR CONFIDENCE:

·      It erodes you confidence. Period.

·      I relay a story that my mentor, Mel Pharr, was told by her mentor, Gina DeVee: indecision is the scariest place a woman can be stuck in.

·      When you allow yourself to spiral downward by engaging in decision, you chip away at your faith in yourself, your ability to trust your instinct and your overall confidence. By the time you make a decision, even if it’s the right one, you are full of doubt and no longer feeling good about it anyway.

·      Start a mantra. When you catch yourself in the cycle of overthinking, analysis paralysis or questioning, use a mantra like, “I trust in my process. I have faith in myself and my abilities. I am safe, secure and confident in my decision.”

3.     IT HEIGHTENS YOUR FEAR & ANXIETY:

·      It accelerates your fear and anxiety levels (again, it’s a scary place!).

·      The very act of being constantly indecisive is you telling yourself and the world that you are uncertain about your abilities and your gut instinct.

·      If you’re already an anxious person, you are only magnifying your perceived “right” to be insecure by essentially saying: “I will probably make the wrong choice and it will lead to a negative outcome.”

·      The truth is: your choice may not lead to the most successful or ideal outcome, but it will lead you to a place where you can learn, pivot and adapt…and NOT make that choice again. So make a choice, feel good about it and MOVE ON.

4.     IT TAKES UP ALL OF YOUR PRECIOUS TIME:

·      It eats up ALL OF YOUR TIME. As an entrepreneur, especially if you are a parent and especially if you are building your high-earning biz as a side hustle while working in a 9-5, you do not have the time for this kind of shit.

·      Often, when we lack the ability to make a decision and move on, we lose track of time in our day to day. We never make progress in our biz. We wake up in 3, 6, 12 months…hell, even years!...with nothing to show for vision of biz success.

·      When you find yourself in the place of indecision and avoiding progressive action in your biz, ask yourself: “How badly do I want this? Where do I want to be in 3, 6, 12 months? Do I want to be here still?” If the answer is you want change, you need to change your pattern of indecision.

5.     IT'S JUST PLAIN SELFISH:

·      Frankly, it’s selfish of you. Yes, tough love, I know.

·      When you prevent yourself from taking action, you are depriving yourself of the transformation that you most likely need. Which will most likely make you a better, more evolved person. Parent. Wife. Leader.

·      It causes you to block the desire of you having a better life, whether or not it involves building a 6- or 7-figure a year business, ditching the corporate job you are unhappy with, spending more time with your family, being there for your kids, providing them with the opportunities and experiences you will be able to afford if you get started now…

·      It also prevents you from being of service in the world. How can you make an impact or help people if you can’t even decide whether or not you should wait to get started, or you’re unsure about what to post or you can’t figure out what system or tool to install in your biz. You get the point.

·      If you are struggling with challenging task of getting out of your own way, think about what I just said. Make it not about yourself. Make it about your service to the world. Your kids. Your family. Your precious time.

I hope this helps you to start taking massive action ASAP. With love!

How to Manifest Miracles in 9 Days

Otherwise known as making room for miraculous results…literally

People are always asking me how I’m able to manifest things like renovations, cash, big business opportunities…or at least, how do I seem to ask for something and then create that thing in a relatively short amount of time when there was no logical reason that it should just fall into my lap.

It’s definitely on purpose. I do things ritually in order to bring in new desires into my world.

I’m going to teach you one of my favorite manifestation techniques – it takes 9 days and I just started yesterday, so it’s the perfect time for you to try it for yourself.

I was able to use this to create (or manifest) a huge home renovation, appliances, consulting job, and my husband and I came into money in a very peculiar and unexpected way. (I don’t want to give away too much on the last part as my hubs is very private, unlike me.)

Here’s how you can do it, too:

Today, you will start of a physical purge (Feng Shui style) of things that may be holding you back in life. Perhaps you don’t even realize that they could be holding you back – which is why this exercise is so great!

You see, when you keep clutter around in your physical environment, you are essentially telling the universe that there isn’t enough room for new experiences in your current future.

In order to open your world, you need to make space. Literally make space.

In Feng Shui, it is recommended that you clear 27 items in 9 consecutive days.

Why these numbers?

Because, like in many cultures and religions, the number 3 carries with it a significance which is often used in the practice of Feng Shui (and 27 and 9 are powerful numbers and both divisible by 3 and 9 is 3 squared…)

Why does it work?

One of the laws of the universe is that nature doesn’t like empty spaces. If you create space, it will rush to fill it. For example, when you finally let go of an old relationship, new people will come into your life.

Here’s how it works:

Rule #1. You must throw away (or donate or give away) 27 items each day for the next 9 days.

Rule #2. If you skip a day, you must start over with day #1.

Rule #3. You can purge or get rid of pretty much anything within your household.

Here are some helpful tips to get you going:

·      Each time, ask yourself: “How does this add value to my life?” If the answer is no, get rid of it!

·      As you do, say thank you to the item for once bringing you value, but acknowledge that it no longer serves you. Then let go of it physically, mentally and emotionally.

·      If an item carries with it a bad memory or represents something that is long in your past, let go of it immediately!

·      Get rid of things that are broken, not fully functioning or are in need of repair (especially if they’ve been that way for a long time).

·      Get rid of old vitamins, medicines and food. By holding on to them, you are telling the universe that you expect to be sick and in need of them again!

·      If you are having a hard time deciding, this is a red flag! Why are you so attached to this “thing?” Hold it to your heart, close your eyes and really ask yourself why you are holding on to it. The answer may even lead to a huge breakthrough for you!

·      Go through your office and throw away old pens, notes, notebooks, etc. You cannot bring forth new business opportunities if you are holding on to old shit. I promise you that.

·      When the 9 days are over, take a visual assessment of what remains. Do these things represent who you want to be going forward? (or who you intend to be?)

Let me know how it works for you! If you're not typically into manifestation or the law of attraction, give it a try. Seriously!

Comparison: Why It's a Problem & What to Do About It

I’m here today to talk to you about a common disease that affects nearly every one of us…particularly when you’re starting out with your business.

I refer to this as a disease because it infiltrates your mind and can stand in the way of your health & happiness when left completely unchecked. It’s called Comparisitis, the disease of comparison.

Okay, in all seriousness, it is truly something that needs to be addressed.

I’m not here to tell you that any type of comparison is a complete “no-no.” In fact, I get what the point of it is in the beginning. It starts off pretty innocently. You are verifying if your business idea is viable, if demand is there, how it could become profitable and what kind of ideas and inspirations you can generate.  Taken step further, who can you sort of emulate or look up to?

That’s fine and all, but the problem is that it often gets way of hand from that point on and quickly spirals into something unhealthy, demotivating or even destructive to you success.

You see, sometimes the act of comparison can easily allow you to fool yourself into thinking other things that stem from feelings of inadequacy, lack and I’m-not-ready-yet-ness.

It also completely disregards a couple of critical factors:

1.     There are clients out there for all of us. You may resonate with others (the way you speak, your style of coaching, your branding) in a way that the people to whom you are comparing yourself to do not. The truth is, no one can do you the way that you can.

2.     It assumes that we’re all at the same level. When you compare incomes, stages of progress within a business, etc. you are disregarding the fact the people to whom you are comparing yourself to are just starting out as well.

3.     Often times, it leads us down a path of feeling in a place of LACK. Meaning, you often begin looking at what you do not have, what you can’t do or what you are missing. Instead of what you are, what you can do and what you have to offer right now.

Here’s a good way to tell if comparison is not productive:

·      How is looking at others making you feel?

·      What thoughts are coming up for you? Are they positive or negative?

·      After comparing yourself, do you feel like you are no longer ready? Do you feel like you should actually not take action?

If you answer yes to any of these, your best bet is to…GO FOR IT!

How to Attract Money (how you manifest it or turn your back on it)

Let's talk about 💲money 💲. Why? Because it's Friday and, for most of you, it's payday!

Money is made up of energy ✨ On its own, it's neither good nor bad, but neutral. It is YOU who assigns emotion to it... your own emotions and opinions of money.

Since 95% of your thoughts & feelings are controlled by your subconscious mind, you've got messages about money flowing whether you acknowledge it or not...

...and those messages are either attracting more money or blocking it from flowing your way.

Think I'm crazy? THINK AGAIN. Check out my latest vid & find out why.

P.S. I know the place is a mess & my kids are, well, being kids. That's my life today! I am getting used to showing the not-so-put together side of me to the world...but getting this message out there seemed more important today than my saving my pride

How You Stop Yourself from Succeeding

Earlier this week, we touched on how your thinking can significantly impact your chances at long-term financial success.

But before we start to work on identifying your more self-imposed mental barriers to success and then learn the tools you need to overcome them…

let’s first talk about the ways you may be self-sabotaging that you may not necessarily be able to help (to a certain extent).

Now, don’t get me wrong, you are 100% ultimately responsible.

However, that doesn’t mean you necessarily caused what Steven Pressfield calls RESISTANCE in his book, The War of Art.

Learn more about what I mean in this latest Vlog along with what clever ways us entrepreneurs can come up with to procrastinate on taking actions that would have otherwise progressed us toward success.

Why Your Mindset Matters (and how you can build awareness)

This week, I made short impromptu video to kick off a long series on strengthening your mindset and all that this entails.

Think of it as a serious bootcamp for you mental game… or a boot in the ass to get you up and running toward your goals of success, freedom and financial wealth. (Whichever lights you up more!)

You may be confident. You may be positive (or at least act like it). You may be highly self-motivated.

However, the type of mindset game that I’m referring to is so much more than that. And, more importantly, it’s absolutely critical to your long-run gains and success.

Find out why along with how your subconscious, which controls about 85-90% of what you end up taking action on or avoiding in your life, is really the driving force in your reality.

Also, to get you started, I included a super simple exercise that you can do anywhere to start building awareness of your thoughts, particularly the more negatively-slanted thoughts.

Let me know what you think or how it goes for you!

Using "Your Why" to Stay Motivated in Your Business

Hello everyone!  It’s so good to be back to work (gradually!) since I had my son 8 weeks ago…

I want to talk to you for a minute about one of the best ways that you can keep your head in the game and stay motivated when you are starting your own biz.

This also applies when you need to re-acclimate (like me now!) to working Mom mode after a break.

I cover it all in this week’s vlog, but… it almost didn’t happen.

I had plans. I wanted to get online and do a training. I wanted to do a lot of things, but my day just was crazy from the moment my eyelids opened. (You know what I mean, right?!)

My son was fussy and wouldn’t sleep. My daughter was in a grumpy mood, had a tantrum and woke up from her slumber needing to be comforted from a nightmare. The contractors that are doing some huge home renovations for us needed this and that… I wasn’t even able to use my own office and had to film the impromptu video from my bedroom!

Which brings me to my point – It is 100% crucial that you get clarity on “your why” when you are embarking on this crazy insane journey called entrepreneurship.

It’s not enough to know what you want. You have to know why you are doing this.

Why? Well at the end of the day it is your emotional connection to that why that will keep you going. This is what will drive you to overcome nasty barriers like fear, resistance, discouragement…

Is it your family? The opportunities that you want to provide for your children? Your time or your freedom? The ability to call all of the shots in your own life? Being able to afford the home of your dreams? Raising your kids to be world travelers? Never having to say "no" to anything because of money?

You know the answer… You just need to admit it to yourself and COMMIT to this unapologetically.

The second thing is that it allows you to be more relatable. You see, “your why” is unique to you and that will allow you to stand out in a competitive marketplace, particularly when you incorporate it in to your own story, or your branding.

So if you’re finding yourself getting discouraged by the amount of competition, noise in the marketplace, this will be your asset & allow you to overcome.

So please check it out and let me know what “your whys” are… I’d love to hear from you!
